16"x20” Acrylic and Oil Pastel on Canvas, Framed
Artist Statement:
My work is rooted in everyday life and the relationships that shape it. I am drawn to quiet, intimate moments, gestures, expressions, and scenes that often go unnoticed. Through painting, I explore the feelings within myself, identity, memory, and belonging, using art as a space for reflection and care.
For many years, art felt distant as a profession, yet it remained essential to how I understood myself. Returning to painting allowed me to reconnect with my creative voice and embrace storytelling as both a personal and communal act.
I primarily work with acrylic paint, guided by intuition and emotion. Community is central to my practice, extending beyond the studio through teaching, curating, and collaboration. My work invites viewers to pause, reflect, and find connection within shared human moments.

Artist Statement:
“Poetic Justice” is a form of hope that acknowledges the gradual nature of change. It is not putting on rose colored glasses, and it does not ignore the difficulty of waiting for something we really want. Poetic Justice encourages sustained action and helpful narratives, even when results seem cloudy, uncertain, and unknown. It takes time, patience, optimism, and work. That’s what poetic justice is. It’s not the kind of justice that flashes with urgency, immediacy or expectation. It’s a quiet, steady glow. This concept feels especially relevant in times of long time struggles, whether personal or societal. It is a commitment to perseverance, grounded in reality but rooted in faith that change is possible over time.
