Join me at Longwood Gardens for a celebration of Poet Laureate Joy Harjo, recipient of Longwood’s inaugural André Harvey Creative Fellowship!
Spend a few hours in creative community for an afternoon of inspiration and poetry in the beautiful setting of the top-ranked botanical garden in the world

We will enter the gardens one hour before the beginning of Longwood’s “Storytelling with Poet Laureate Joy Harjo” event. We will meander through select areas of the gardens in this hour, pausing to observe and record the lovely details the garden has to offer. While this event is centered on poetry, all creatives are welcome! Feel free to sketch instead of write if you prefer.
We will then walk together to the poetry celebration, scheduled from 2pm to 3:30pm. After the conclusion of the event, there will be opportunities for book signing with Joy Harjo, as well as connecting with fellow poetry enthusiasts over light refreshments.

Once the event has concluded, you will be able to stay in the gardens as long as you like - there is an Illuminated Fountain Show beginning at 8:15 PM.
Bring your preferred notebook of any size you feel comfortable walking with, OR add a mini 4” square sketchbook to your reservation. This event has limited spots available, which are issued on a first-come first-serve basis. Registration is required, and we must all enter together as a group.
The “Storytelling with Poet Laureate Joy Harjo” event has been planned by Longwood Gardens. The Glad Suite is organizing a creative group to attend this event together, and has not contributed to the planning of the event itself.
In the event of rain, we will be walking and writing inside Longwood’s extensive Conservatory.
