Artist Statement:
I hope this sculpture expresses at least a glimmer of hope for our young Democracy. I utilize found and given objects that are often left anonymously at my door. Each sold piece would give a percentage to an organization that is in the thick of this existential fight of ours. I have been so proud of ordinary citizens in such extraordinary times. To every abhorrent event from the rich and powerful that punctures our lives in disbelief, there are many examples of profiles in courage from neighbors, teachers, moms, nurses, judges, and some legislators. More and more ordinary citizens of America have taken to the streets in protest in all 50 states along with the lower courts, which gives me hope.
