Artist Statement:
The “Eat Cake, Stay Angry” series is a response to the pendulum swing of what popular culture deems the “ideal” body type for women. Pigeon, UK-based Crochet Artist of “The Pigeon’s Nest,” uttered these words in response to a targeted ad she received for a product claiming a return to 90s starvation aesthetics. Fueling our bodies is a part of fueling our activism, so Eat Cake, Stay Angry out there!
