While this vase has not been specifically dated, it is an older piece of carnival glass. The glass is not as thick as Mid-Century resurgence carnival glass, and the metal oxide used to create the iridescent effect is visible in the rim - consistent with original carnival glass (see photos). Carnival glass became popular in the early 1900s through the early 1930s. Homes without electricity relied on this iridescent effect for statement pieces under candlelight
